Taking a U turn back to Anik

Anik McGrory started me out on the Global Blog Tour which in turn pushed me into starting a blog. I absolutely love her illustrations. The people she draws have such wonderful subtle gestures, they make me smile every time I see them. Please take a moment to look at her drawings, it's a great way to start your day.

Another stop on my Global Blog Tour

The next stop on my blog tour is with friend Betsy Snyder. She's another author-illustrator who's beautiful illustrations have graced many younger children's books. Not only is she a wonderful illustrator, she's known to wrestle alligators when given the opportunity. Sorry Betsy, I couldn't resist!
Maybe she's only wrestled one once and I'm not even sure if it was a real alligator, but perhaps some day she'll fill me in.

Still traveling on the Global Blog Tour

In my next few blogs I will continue the Global Tour I had mentioned in my earlier blog.
It started in Australia, where a children's book author and illustrator invited a few author/illustrator friends to answer some questions about their upcoming books or recently published books and they in turn asked a few friends and so on.

Today I'm highlighting my friend Erin Eitter Kono. Please go to her link to learn about her new book, CATERINA AND THE PERFECT PARTY coming out in July, published by Dial!

Erin and I met at a conference in Vermont a few years ago and hit it off right away. Usually I'm the only one I know who sketches at meetings. But Erin out-sketched me and I enjoyed watching her magical little mice show up on her notebook as we sat next to each other.

Playing around with collage

Felt like mixing it up a bit by combining some of the techniques I've been working on in my encaustic work. So with this in mind, I've have lots and lots of fun. Oh how I appreciate Photoshop for this. No paste, or wrinkles!!

A Global Blog Tour

My friend Anik McGrory tagged me for a blog tour. This blog tour is created by children's book authors and illustrators who tag friends around the world to share their works in progress.

There are a set of questions that we are to answer, but because I've been in the middle of revising and
writing several different books, I'm going to give a sneak peek into the illustrations I've been working
on instead.

Next week I'll tag a couple of friends and share their work.

These illustrations are still in progress, but here we go...

These illustrations are from a middle grade novel.

And for another picture book.

Be back soon...........
